On a midnight train to Haarlem
Well, not exactly on a midnight train, more like about 15:25. This blog was written on the train on my way to Tammy. Got all the gear here, including but not limited to: Bailey's cage, a jacket, my laptop (of course) and my laptop bag containing various items such as two days' worth of unmentionables and deodorant.
When the lady said that her Weimarener was boisterous, she should've said something along the lines of "completely untrained and undisciplined". This dog doesn't know any of the standard dog things, such as sit, stay or down. Now to be honest with you, Bailey is not that well trained. He listens most of the time, the big difference between Bailey and Cartouche (that's the name of the dog) is that Bailey weighs about a 10th of this dog. So pushing Bailey off you doesn't involve taking his paws off your shoulders or face.
It's been weird being home all by myself. Things just seem so different, like the absence of the sound of Tammy typing away on her keyboard, all the usual background sounds you'd have in a small apartment with two people living in it. Normally I love cooking. It's something I enjoy doing but rarely do when I am by myself. I just can't be bothered. Last night I ordered some kind of Surinam food from the local Chinese food delivery place. It was noodles with different kinds of meats in a red sauce. Quite tasty, actually, although the meat was a little on the salty side. At least I didn't have to cook it myself, right? I had the left-overs for lunch today.
Bailey is as good as gold on the train. He's lying down on the seat right next to me as I type this. Every now and again he'll get up and look out the window to see what's going on. I swear, this dog couldn't be any better than this. He loves public transport and is not that impressed with being in a car at all. He is quite restless when he's in a car. Probably because he's just not used to it. He's not hard to deal with, even in a crowded bus or tram although sometimes he gets a little too curious and wants to walk around.
This part of the entry is being written in Heemstede, however, there is no Internet here, except for sporadic wifi stuff to which Tammy managed to connect earlier today and last night. I'll try to upload this blog entry that way. If you can read this then it has obviously worked.
