We got a tremendous amount of work done yesterday thanks to our upstairs neighbours Wendy and Jan. Jan and I ripped the door frame out of from between the kitchen and the bathroom and put a wall in it. This leaves us with a single door to the bathroom, the one from the dining room area. Tammy and Wendy did a lot of sanding and painting. We started at about 10AM and didn't stop until about 5PM. We had some breaks of course and we did pop into the DIY store a few times to get supplies, but other than that we worked pretty much non-stop. The sanding has caused a very thing film of dust to settle on all the things in the house. The sander does have a thing to allow it to connect to a hoover but that only works when you can hold it flat.
Today we'll pop into the DIY store to pick up some hardboard to cover the kitchen side of the ex-door and the area that held all the mirrors in the living room. Then we'll get someone in to cover it with plaster. We also need a temporary curtain up in the bathroom to keep the water from the shower from going all over the place.
