There is not a whole lot of new stuff since last night, apart from a few little news paper stories. There hasn't been a whole lot of news not related to the Pope or Price Rainier.

No goddamn cursing here!
In a small town called Staphorst the local town council has decided to go against the constitution and implement a local law that forbids cursing in public. Of course there is no way to actually enforce it since it is an illegal law. It serves as a symbolic means to attempt to halt the crudening of the language. This is the second such town that has implemented a local law like this.

13 year old student strangles boy over cigarette
A 13 year old boy was taken into custody by the police after attempting to strangle another student. The boy demanded a cigarette and when he was refused he pushed a hot lighter into the victim's face and attempted to strangle him. The next day the victim also received a death threat from his assailant. Just goes to show that denying someone a smoke is bad for your health.

Dangerous pheasant terrorizes village
The sleepy hollow of Bishopstone is under siege by Birdzilla. A Reeves pheasant named Prezza has repeatedly attacked the inhabitants and its pets. With its sharp beak and claws it has wounded quite a few people already. Why haven't they people turned this menace into a menu item? It seems that this bird is very rare and protected by law. No one, so far, has been brave enough to defy the law. Perhaps we can send that disgruntled 13 year old there, he can work off some of that pent-up aggression.
