No funny business
This morning was yet another pretty unfunny newspaper article day. It seems as though there is no humour left in the world. Well at least I still have my music and my MP3 Player. I am sure I've said it before, but I love this new gadget of mine. I have it playing all day at work and when I am sitting at my computer at home. The best feature is of course the fact that it has a 24 hour battery life, in ideal circumstances. Needless to say that chances are pretty slim it will actually last that long in Real Life™.
I've been looking into getting my retirement stuff sorted out. It turns out it's not nearly as expensive as I originally feared it would be. The best thing is of course that there are sorts of nice tax rebates you can get on the money you put into the fund. There is still a lot of things I need to figure out, but at least I've made a head start. The first advisor came by the other evening. He explained to me all the ins and outs of the various investment and insurance plans there are and how, if we both die before the age of 65, no money will be paid out. He mentioned that at the age of 64.5 you have to decide how you want your retirement money paid out. He then jokingly warned me not to drink the coffee should they offer me some. I guess I'll bring my own. Sneaky buggers, those banks. Tomorrow I have an appointment with my own bank, perhaps they have a similar offer and plan as the guy I saw last Thursday. The nice thing about this appointment is that they have a branch office in the building of the company I am currently contracted out to. How great is that? It's a whopping 3 minute walk from my desk and I don't have to go outside.
