Look ma! No Trains!
It's strike day today. Not for me, unfortunately, but for the train traffic control company. They're not happy with their pay rise (I know how that feels) and they're not letting any trains pass through the Netherlands. That means that many people can't get to work. That's not such a big deal for me, since I can work from home.
It's supposed to be a scorcher this weekend with predicted temperatures of up to 26C on Saturday and 30C on Sunday. That's pretty hot, considering the we're in the Netherlands.
We went to the gyno again today and we're both going to be subjected to more testing, except my tests don't involve painful procedures. Poor Tammy.
Tammy is going to be dog/house sitting for about 8 days. It's a pretty lucrative job but it sucks that I will probably not see her much that week since we have our own dog that needs taking care of. It would simply take too long for me to get out of work, go see her then come back. Bailey would piss himself before I got home.
I now have almost 1700 mp3s on my Creative Zen Touch, most of them are rips of my own cds, in fact, so don't start calling the MPAA or RIAA or Brein (their Dutch brothers in crime) just yet. I love my mp3 player. I am currently listening to all of my Oasis and Coldplay mp3s (about 130 of them or so). I have a pretty good mix of stuff on it. Everything ranging from Altern8, Rammstein, Prodigy to Van Morrisson. The random play feature is awesome, with 1700 tunes to pick from, you're not likely to hear one you heard a few hours ago. I'm still going to have to create a few more play lists, right now I only have one but I forget what I put in it.
I spoke to my little brother Merijn last night. He's been in South Africa for the past couple of months teaching kids on some ranch. He's decided to stay for another 2.5 months instead of coming back at the end of this month. It looks like he's having a great time there. I hope he doesn't get eaten by a hungry cheetah because I don't think he can outrun one of those.
